History

The story so far

Boris Lewandowski, along with four colleagues, founded Document Service Center in the quiet Berlin borough of Reinickendorf. This was 1997. With its friendly in-house approach, personalised client care and state-of-the-art technology, DSC soon had a growing clientele. Today, DSC is one of the leading companies in technical translation.

In 2004, DSC moved to its present two-floor office in the heart of Berlin’s City area. Some 100 professionals from all around the globe ensure that documents meet the clients’ requirements. With the German Government, various company headquarters, airports and numerous universities based in and around Berlin, this is a truly international setting. Therefore, DSC has no end of highly-skilled workers on which it can draw.

The quality offered by DSC has not gone unnoticed in Europe either. Since 2008, Document Service Center has been part of the British RWS Group. Operating as an independent subsidiary, DSC benefits from this international network when acquiring clients and exchanging specialist skills. At the same time, the established translation cycle – from the initial consultation to the final product – can remain entirely in our Berlin headquarters.

In 2009, DSC went on the offensive with its array of technological skills. Backed by the main translation software producers, the DSC Training Center opened its doors for business for the first time. Experienced tutors provide certified training courses in the latest translation technologies and methods.

Berlin will continue to be an opportunity for DSC in the future because the diversity of our languages is a true reflection of this vibrant multi-cultural city.
