Upgrading from SDL Trados 2007 to Trados Studio 2009

This course was developed for SDL Trados 2007 users and teaches how the new functions in SDL Trados Studio 2009 can be used. It shows the most effective ways of upgrading SDL Trados 2007 resources to the new format, such as translation memories, termbases and tag settings files. The course forms the basis for effective use of the whole range of functions available in SDL Trados Studio 2009 and will increase quality and productivity. You will learn more about best practices for situations where both users of SDL Trados Studio 2009 and SDL Trados 2007 are involved. This course is aimed at translators and project managers who are upgrading from SDL Trados 2007 to SDL Trados Studio 2009.

  • Overview of the program interface of SDL Trados Studio 2009
  • New functions presented, including:
    real-time preview, real-time QA checks, ContextMatch, AutoSuggest, MultiMemory Access, integrated Editor, project management and workflow functions
  • Upgrading translation memories, TMX export/import, Upgrade Wizard
  • Creating AutoSuggest lists
The course highlights the differences to SDL Trados 2007 and provides examples for generating more efficient workflows with SDL Trados Studio 2009.

SDL Trados 2009 – Getting Started (Level I)

This course was developed for SDL Trados 2009 users who have little or no experience with the software. Training is given on the main functions in SDL Trados Studio 2009.
The course is the foundation for mastering the basic functions within SDL Trados Studio 2009 and will increase quality and productivity.
After completing this course, you will be able to open, translate and review documents and project packages. The course is held in small groups, with a maximum of 8 participants. It forms part of the official SDL Trados certification programme, in preparation for Level 1 Online Certification.

SDL Trados 2009 – Intermediate (Level II)

This course teaches advanced functions in SDL Trados Studio 2009. These include creating, managing and running projects and using the new options available for increasing the efficiency of the translation process. The quality assurance functions and methods are also looked at in more depth. The course is held in small groups, with a maximum of 8 participants. It forms part of the official SDL Trados certification programme, in preparation for Level 2 Online Certification.

SDL Trados 2009 – Advanced (Level III)

The aim of this course is to enhance your knowledge of SDL Trados Studio 2009 and to improve your technical understanding of frequently-used functions. This includes maintaining translation memories, working with markup languages (HTML and XML) and using AutoSuggest. The course is held in small groups, with a maximum of 8 participants. It forms part of the official SDL Trados certification programme in preparation for Level 3 Online Certification.

SDL MultiTerm 2009 – Translator training

SDL MultiTerm 2009 Desktop is the desktop terminology management tool from SDL. This course is designed to give you a good understanding of the features and functionality within SDL Trados MultiTerm 2009 in order to manage clients’ terminology. It also shows how its power can be enhanced in the translation environment through integration with SDL Trados Studio 2009. The course is held in small groups, with a maximum of 8 participants. This course is part of the official SDL Trados training programme.
